Situé au 34 rue de Stassart à Ixelles, le projet mené avec Célestin Fresnay et l’association Young European Artists consiste en la reconversion d’un ancien bâtiment à forte charge historique — autrefois siège d’un cercle colonial belge — en ateliers et espaces de création pour artistes contemporains. Ce lieu, marqué par plusieurs strates d’usages successifs (culturels, institutionnels et radiophoniques), est aujourd’hui réinvesti comme un espace vivant de production artistique, accueillant ateliers, résidences et événements. Le projet s’inscrit dans une démarche de réappropriation culturelle et temporaire du bâti, transformant un héritage complexe en un lieu ouvert, tourné vers la création européenne contemporaine et le dialogue entre passé et présent.

Located at 34 Rue de Stassart in Brussels, this project transforms a former historic building — once home to the Belgian Colonial Circle — into a vibrant hub for contemporary creation. Led by Célestin Fresnay and the association Young European Artists, the site has been reactivated as a space dedicated to artists’ studios, residencies and cultural experimentation.
By reusing an existing structure with a strong historical identity, the project establishes a dialogue between memory and contemporary artistic practices. Today, the building serves as a place of exchange, production and visibility for emerging European artists, embedding creativity at the very heart of the city.
