The NOR project is part of the revitalisation of the North district (called Manhattan) in the heart of Brussels. In the 1980s, this administrative district was built (painfully), but a few decades later, it has become obsolete and the buildings are gradually being renovated to contemporary standards (watch the video « Quatuor » to see an another example). NOR is no exception: Banimmo asked the Brussels architectural firm DDS+ to think about the renovation of Nord Plaza. The result is the project presented in this video: even if its function remains office, the building has been updated in terms of aesthetics and energy performance. The new facades are punctuated with prints, and a patio and generous terraces have been created at the front and inside of the block.
Le projet NOR s’inscrit dans la revitalisation du quartier Nord (appelé Manhattan) au cœur de Bruxelles. Les années 80 ont vu sortir de terre (dans la douleur) ce quartier administratif mais quelques décennies plus tard, il est devenu obsolète et petit-à-petit les buildings se rénovent aux normes contemporaines (voir la vidéo « Quatuor » pour découvrir un autre exemple). NOR n’échappe pas à cette constatation : Banimmo a demandé au bureau d’architecture bruxellois DDS+ de réfléchir à la réhabilitation de Nord Plaza. En résulte le projet présenté dans cette vidéo : même si sa fonction reste du bureau, le bâtiment a été mis au goût du jour en terme esthétique et de performances énergétiques. Les nouvelles façades sont rythmées avec des imprimés, un patio et des terrasses généreuses ont été créés à l’avant et en intérieur d’îlot.
