As part of the « Parvis-Morichar » sustainable neighbourhood contract in Saint-Gilles, StudioPaolaVigano’ and vvv architecture urbanisme were commissioned to renovate the Place Marie Janson. The idea was quickly to connect the built front, the Saint-Gilles forecourt and the interior of the square by creating a sloping surface to let the water run off and collect it in large linear ditches, by imagining a green canopy and an interpretation of uses in order to guarantee free access for greater inclusion of the population and thus compensate for the commercial use of the forecourt. With play areas, sports facilities, picnic areas, rest areas and meeting places, the square has been transformed and greened into a veritable urban park. The project has also led to the redevelopment and pedestrianisation of two adjacent streets: rue de Moscou and rue Jourdan.

Dans le cadre du contrat de quartier durable « Parvis-Morichar » à Saint-Gilles, les bureaux StudioPaolaVigano’ et vvv architecture urbanisme ont eu comme mission la rénovation de la place Marie Janson. L’idée fut rapidement celle de connecter le front bâti, le parvis de Saint-Gilles et l’intérieur de la place en créant un plan incliné pour faire ruisseler l’eau et la capter dans des grandes noues linéaires, en imaginant une canopée verte et une interprétation des usages afin de garantir la gratuité pour une meilleure inclusion des populations et ainsi compenser l’usage commercial du parvis. Espaces ludiques, équipements sportifs, aires de pique-nique, de repos et de rencontres, la place a été métamorphosée et verdurisée en véritable parc urbain. Le projet a également permis le réaménagement et la piétonnisation de deux rues adjacentes : la rue de Moscou et la rue Jourdan.
