Dorte Mandrup is a Danish architect who founded her studio Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter in 1999. She imagines architecture in the context of its environment. Out of conviction and ethics, Dorte Mandrup refuses to work in autocratic countries. She has gained worldwide renown for the projects she builds on particularly fragile sites. In 2022, her studio won the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture, which recognizes those who contribute to the renewal of sustainable architecture and urban planning practices.
She is vice-president of the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, a member of the architecture section of the Akademie der Künste, a former member of the Danish Historic Buildings Council, president of the prestigious Mies van der Rohe Award in 2019, adjunct professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and frequently holds visiting professorships abroad – in 2018 at Cornell University College of Architecture, Art and Planning and from 2021 at the renowned Mendrisio Accademia de Architettura in Switzerland.
In 2023, Dorte Mandrup took an active part in the jury for the second edition of the Brussels Architecture Prize.

Dorte Mandrup est une architecte danoise qui a fondé son studio Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter en 1999. Elle imagine son architecture dans le contexte de son environnement. Elle a acquis une renommée mondiale au travers de projets qu’elle édifie sur des sites particulièrement fragiles. Son studio fut lauréat en 2022 du Global Award for Sustainable Architecture qui distingue celles et ceux qui contribuent au renouvellement des pratiques en matière d’architecture et d’urbanisme durables.
Elle est vice-présidente du Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, membre de la section architecture de l’Akademie der Künste, ancien membre du Conseil des bâtiments historiques du Danemark, présidente du prestigieux prix Mies van der Rohe en 2019, professeur adjoint à l’Académie royale des beaux-arts du Danemark et occupe fréquemment des postes de professeur invité à l’étranger – en 2018 au Cornell University College of Architecture, Art and Planning et à partir de 2021 à la célèbre Mendrisio Accademia de Architettura en Suisse.
